She continues her growth as a potter learning from John Peterson. \nColorful ceramic plates with glass lined bottoms made by Marty Price. Marty is a retired Wapahani teacher and peach farmer. He has been working in clay for more than 40 years. Various sizes $8 to $18 \nFarm Scenes by Paul Laseau (1937-2025)\nLast two Paul Laseau paintings remaining at Gordy. Paul was professor at Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning for more than 30 years. He held numerous workshops nationwide on design communication\, freehand drawing\, visual notes\, and the role of digital media in design communication. \nOne of a handful of nationally recognized authors in the field of design communication\, Laseau authored several books including\, “Graphic Thinking for Architects and Designers”\, “Visual Notes”\, “Graphic Problem Solving”\, and “Freehand Sketching”\, many of which are still in use at universities today. \nAfter retiring\, Laseau became an accomplished watercolor artist\, with several shows throughout the Midwest as well as self-published collections of paintings.

It’s a living archive of a journalist whose life and career mirrored the most pivotal moments in American history. The display follows his life through the items Bell and his family donated to the archives and was curated by his granddaughter\, Samantha Politinsky\, who is the current E. Ruth Dunning Graduate Assistant for the Archives and Special Collections. \nThe University Libraries will hold an opening ceremony commemorating Bell and the newly installed exhibit on Friday\, November 14th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm\, located at the Archives and Special Collections\, Bracken Library Room 210. DESCRIPTION:Sabine Heller is a 3D animation industry expert working as the VP\, Creative Operations at Mikros Animation with an everlasting passion for animated films and entertainment. Hear her Artist Talk in AJ225 on November 4. This event is free and open to the public. \nIn her 19 years of industry experience\, Sabine has worked on commercial projects for clients such as Jägermeister and Ferrero\, as well as 3D scanning for visual effects and toys at Gentle Giant Studios. After she discovered her excitement for rigging characters\, she moved from her home country Germany to the United States and spent most of her career in the animation industry working on animated features like “Rio”\, “Ice Age”\, “The Peanuts Movie” and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Mutant Mayhem” at Blue Sky Studios and Mikros Animation. \nSabine holds a degree in Media System Design from the Hochschule Darmstadt in Germany\, and an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She also received a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Kent in Canterbury and is an active member of Women in Animation\, the Visual Effects Society\, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

SUMMARY:Historic Beech Grove Cemetery Tour
DESCRIPTION:Learn more about Muncie’s rich and fascinating history by taking a guided tour through a portion of historic Beech Grove Cemetery. Reenactors positioned along the route will bring local historic figures back to life! \nTours are approximately 1 mile\, generally leave on the half hour and are limited to groups of 20. \nRefreshments will be available near the fountain for guests as they wait for the tours to depart. Guests can test their fact-or-fiction skills by playing a round of Dueling Historians in the Chapel. \nThis is an outdoor\, family-friendly event which does require walking a substantial distance and taking some steps on uneven ground. Accommodations can be made in advance for those who need them. \nTickets are also available to purchase at the Main Gate the day of the event until 6:30pm. Children under the age of 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free. \nShould the event be postponed due to inclement weather\, our rain date is October 12th and tickets will be transferred to that date (or\, if requested\, refunded). Eventbrite will\, however\, retain their fee. All ticket holders will receive an email (sent to the address provided to us) as early as possible should we move the event to the 12th. \nParking will be available across from the main cemetery gate. Please take caution when crossing Kilgore. Accommodation for those needing parking accessibility will be made. \nThis event is proudly brought to you by Old West End Neighborhood Association.
