Garfield, the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating, lazy yet lovable feline, has been calling Muncie, Indiana home since his debut in 1978. Despite his big-city fame as the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip and his impressive, award-winning media and pop culture empire, Garfield has never strayed from his small-town roots. Garfield’s creator, Jim Davis, graduated from Ball State University in 1967 and kept Garfield’s headquarters and studio in Delaware County for decades.<\/p>\n
