Fishing, boating, or just enjoying the view? Prairie Creek Reservoir<\/a> has an accessible dock so that everyone, including people using wheelchairs or walkers, can enjoy the water. It\u2019s one of those small additions that makes a big difference for families and friends who want to be outdoors together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensory-Friendly Fun at Minnetrista<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Museums can be overwhelming for some visitors, but not at Minnetrista! Thanks to their sensory support packs, guests with sensory sensitivities can feel more at ease while exploring the gardens, exhibits, and activities. Bringing the Magic of Theater to All at Muncie Civic<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Muncie Civic Theatre<\/a> has made accessibility a real part of the show. In addition to special sensory-friendly and ASL interpreted performances, some shows are captioned for deaf and hard-of-hearing guests, others are audio described for people with visual impairments, and their building offers barrier-free access throughout. There\u2019s even a hearing loop to help those with hearing aids or cochlear implants enjoy the performance without missing a beat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ball State\u2019s Champions of Accessibility<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Office of Disability Services at Ball State<\/a> works hard to support students with accommodations, resources, and technology that help them thrive. They\u2019re also a great partner when it comes to rethinking accessibility on a broader level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience Excellent Service at Our Training Hotel & Restaurant<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Courtyard Muncie at Horizon Convention Center<\/a> and 1925 PubHouse<\/a> Muncie aren\u2019t just great places to stay, play, and eat; they\u2019re also training grounds for students from the Erskine Green Training Institute<\/a> (EGTI), which helps adults with disabilities learn hospitality, culinary, healthcare, and manufacturing job skills. Plus, both locations are accessible. When you dine or book a room, you\u2019re staying in accessible accommodations and<\/em> supporting inclusive employment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting Around<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Downtown Muncie<\/a>\u2019s sidewalks are ADA compliant and have wheelchair accessible corners, providing easy-to-navigate pathways to local shops, restaurants, the hotel and convention center, and other professional services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muncie\u2019s public transit system, MITS<\/a>, offers accessible buses. For those new to transit, they also offer travel training, because independence should be within reach for everyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
