Join us for an evening of history and food as we explore how community cookbooks reveal stories far beyond the kitchen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with\u00a0<\/span>exhibits<\/span>\u00a0featuring cookbooks, recipes, and aprons from local archives. At 5:30 p.m., a\u00a0<\/span>panel of historians\u00a0<\/span>will share insights into what can be uncovered by studying community cookbooks \u2013 highlighting women\u2019s history, family and community life, organizational stories, food traditions, and cultural change. The evening concludes at 6:30 p.m. with a\u00a0<\/span>special dinner<\/span>\u00a0inspired by recipes from local cookbooks, bringing history to life through a thoughtfully curated menu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Complimentary copies of\u00a0<\/span>Bite by Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees<\/span>\u00a0by Aimee Nezhukumatathi and\u00a0<\/span>Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story<\/span>\u00a0by Keith Noble Maillard will be available courtesy of Muncie Public Library and a BIG READ grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.<\/span><\/p>\n
